I've got to say that I am not a big fan of reality shows but this one is good. I couldn't stop watching the first series, I was hooked even further on the second series, and after being involved in the Australian series, I can't wait for The Biggest Loser 3 to start!

So Why Is 'The Biggest Loser' Good Viewing?

The Biggest Loser is good viewing because it doesn't gloss over anything. Too many weight loss programs try to make losing weight look easy in their sales pitch, but in reality it's tough. On the show you see 12 obese people trying to lose weight. If anyone can lose weight fast it's these guys but notice how each individual has different peaks and troughs. They all train the same but just as it is for each of us, each individual responds differently!

Limitations to following 'The Biggest Loser' training methods

Most 'ordinary' individuals could not follow their training regime. Their program is pretty tough. These guys would have been screened, then chosen from thousands to make sure they are up to it, yet there were still injuries. This is can be quite common when anyone starts exercising too hard, too fast. But I'm guessing most of you won't be exercising 3 hours a day! The trick is start out light and build up slowly.

The Biggest Lesson From 'The Biggest Loser'

Perserverance! Weight loss is not easy for most people. You need to start an exercise program and give up your favorite foods. As if that's not hard enough, you also have to deal with the usual daily stresses and that's usually the straw that breaks the camel's back! You have to stick with it. It is tough at the start but I can absolutely promise you that it gets much easier. Perservere, and you too can be The Biggest Loser!

    Weight Loss Tips:

    • Start slow and build some momentum
    • Write down your goals and tell others about them. The extra support may just get you over the line.
    • Plan your week so that exercise and food take priority.
    • Don't get too down on yourself if you slip up. Just re-focus and keep moving forward.
