Final Week, The Triathlon Minimize

Triathlon Training
More serious training for the remainder of the losers. With their most difficult challenge of the series rapidly approaching, the surviving members of the black and blue teams, wait with bated breath to see who the swimming guest trainer will be. As they stand by the pool in anticipation, the waters part, and, as if from nowhere, the magnificent form of Mark Foster, 5 times Olympian, rises from the deep.- Whoa! steady girls!
The swimming part of the challenge is Katey`s strongest event and so, she is upset that she cant take part in the training due to her sprained ankle. The rest of the crew take advantage of Mark`s expertise in swimming techniques. They all benefit greatly from the experience and look forward, with confidence, to the contest. Meanwhile, Katey is given the go ahead, by the doctor, to compete in the triathlon.
Joining the group for the cycling, is Jamie Staff, a member of the three-man sprint team in Beijing. He has his work cut out with Sadie as she has only recently learned how to ride a bike. This is possibly the hardest leg of the race because of having to control something other than your own arms and legs. Maria is the one to watch in this event.

With the triathlon only hours away, Angie and Richard take their teams for a final workout. The challenge is going to be a real test of the losers mental strength so the trainers put them through rigorous exercises which require discipline and focus. Angie`s black team, lift medicine balls above their heads till it hurts. Despite some shakey moments, they all manage to work through the pain barrier. Richard has his two team members doing push ups while he takes it easy, riding on their backs! Satisfied that they have helped their teams as much as they can, they wish them luck for the final challenge of this series.

Triathlon Challenge
The first event - swimming for 50 mtrs; second event - cycling for 2400 mtrs; third event - running for 400 mtrs.
Katey proved this was indeed her strongest event. She went off at a great pace and managed to hang on to her lead despite gallant efforts from Maria and Kevin. Finishing 8 seconds ahead of the rest of the swimmers, she was over the moon to win her first ever sporting event.
Next up was the cycling. Kevin was first off the mark. He set off with determination, leaving everyone with a fair bit of ground to make up, but with hindsight, perhaps this was not a good move. With 6 laps to cover he should have paced himself and left his sprint to the last few hundred metres. Carol took her chance on the 4th lap and went into the lead only to be outmanoevered in the last few metres by Maria. Great race!   Sadie was thrilled to have finished the race. A commendable performance.
Finally, the 400mtrs run. Jamie wanted to show the others what he was made of in this leg of the race. Maria felt she had a good chance of being overall winner if she timed this right. What she wasn`t expecting to see was Jamie running passed her, hot on the heels of Carol and Kevin. Kev, aware of how close Jamie was, succeeded in holding him off until he crossed the finishing line.
