Biggest Loser UK - Weekly Weigh-In
Week 4 - 22th May, 2009
With the tough challenges of week 4 behind them, the teams prepare for a last ditch effort to burn off the pounds.Their aim is to stay above the all important yellow line on the weigh-in loss board and avoid elimination.
There's only one way to achieve maximum weight loss on Biggest Loser: an extra special workout with the trainers Angie and Richard. It's got to hurt, but no pain no gain. Angie is a real tough cookie and earlier in the week Jamie decided he couldn't hack her style of pushing to the limit. Poor Jamie had suffered numerous injuries and wasn't able to train to train to the level that Angie expected, consequently, due to his lack of effort, she labelled him "sick note". Jamie was not amused! He joined Richards team.
Richards Team - Paying the Price for Temptation
Richard was determined to put his team through their paces after some members had given into temptation the day before. The temptation had been too much to resist, they were promised a ten minute phone call home for eating more cupcakes than anyone else. Where's your willpower guys? There was no let up as they were subjected to the wrath of their trainer: shoulder pushes, body push ups, squats and sit ups. The furious workout proved too much much for Jamie and Mark, they were both a little poorly afterwards - I can't give you the graphic details, i turned away!
Angie's Team - Pushed to the Limit.
With only three members left, Angie knows she has to work her team extra hard to stand a chance of one of them taking the title of "The Biggest Loser". She commands flat-out commitment and pushes Miriam to the limit. Miriam lacks confidence and self-belief, but Angies constant encouragement helps her through the pain and she begins to believe in herself.
Dave was exhausted as Angie told him to turn up his speed on the cycling to double the level. It was more than he could take and, for the first time in four weeks, he gave up. Come on Dave you can do it!
Sadie is proving to be a star on the exercise bike and managed an impressive forty swings on the cow-bell, much to the delight of Angie. Could she just have the winner here?
The Weigh-In
The losers have reached the half way point in the series and they're all desperate to survive this weeks weigh-in.
Dave and Jamie are first up with fantastic results. Jamies switch to Richard's training sessions proves to be the right move as he weighs in with a massive 12lb loss. Dave achieves a creditable 6lb loss. Well done Boys!
Kevin and Mark are not too far behind with a combined loss of 11 lbs, and with their success in the challenge giving them an extra 3 lbs to add to their score, they finish with a total loss of 14 lbs.
The rest of the teams succeed in achieving good results with the exception of Miriam, who, despite her courageous efforts in training, fails to lose anything. She isn't too down-hearted because she knows how her fitness has improved and this is just a blip on her way to achieving her goal.
With Sadie losing only 1.06% of her weight, she joins Miriam at the bottom of the score-board, and the two great friends face the other teams to make their plea for survival. Good luck Girls! What's this I've just noticed only four guys left and they're at the top of the leader board. Your're letting it slip Girls!
