Hi guys,
I was just checking through some of my older emails when I came across my "conversations" with Ray and some of the team from this site. Can I say...it has been a long time between drinks. I have just realised that it has been around 2 years since I was probably last on this forum.
I think i should (re)introduce myself. My name is Tracy. I joined the inaugural Biggest Loser weight loss competition back when the first series of (Australia's) Biggest Loser started. I weighed in at 136kg and lost an amazing 36kgs to take out the competition and become Ray Kelly'd first Online Health Biggest Loser (Yes, Ray, I still have my trophy, lol). I ended the competition by going into hospital to have a "simple" hernia repair operation. (Thank you Public Hospital Services, lol). Unfortunately, the surgery didn't take. My wound get infected and after 5 painful weeks of trying to recover, exercises (very gently) and constant throwing up I was readmitted to hospital to have another repair and an irrigation flush. One week later the infection was back so I went back into hospital to have yet another operation (count it....3 surgeries....5 weeks). By this stage I was exhausted and in constant pain. The doctors decided to leave my wound open to heal (It seems that because I was "fat" the blood couldn't flow around the abdomen correctly and caused the fat to break down...thus causing the infection). It took nearly six months for my wound to completely heal. (I now have the Joker's face (thank you Heath Ledger) on my stomach, which includes a brand new belly button). Consequently, the weight that I was so successful in losing found me again. Luckily though, not as much. I shot back up to about 125 kgs. At the same time as this was happening I was still at uni studying my High School Teaching Degree. I kept trying to lose the weight, but it didn't seem to want to leave me this time. About 4 months ago I decided to try again. During the first/second term school holidays I decided that enough was enough and it was time to lose some of what I had regained.
I dreaded getting back on those scales. I was so concerned that my weight had flown way past my heaviest weight of 140kg. But hey, I caught my first break for a long time. I jumped (well hopped) on the scales and weighed in at a hefty 121 kgs. I started my new regime and since then (almost 20 weeks) I have dropped down as far as 109kgs but am currently sitting at 112kgs. I haven't really been exercising as I should, but I do do plenty of walking exercise as a teacher. Nowhere near enough, I know, but at least it's something. I also go out, once a week, normally on Sunday's, bushwalking or sandboarding or things like that and I will be going paintballing in the not too distant future (probably once it gets a tad warmer).
Anyway, that is some of my story. Hopefully some of you will remember me from the past and others will get to know me well. I love Adro and Ray and know that these two guys are the BEST people to be going on this journey with. Good luck to everyone and I know that I'm going to enjoy getting to know everyone on here.
Love and Big Hugs
Tracy
