Yet another knee question from Jane

OK, just before I went into hospital, so almost 6 weeks ago, I fell on my good knee. Had a massive bruise and little graze on my upper shin, it was swollen etc. as I have done almost nothing since then, it had a great chance to be rested.

It hurts to kneel on it now (can't do it, too sore), and there is pain BEHIND the knee, not the kneecap, but the back of the actual knee, at the top, almost more the back of the lower thigh. It hurts to lift the leg, but not to lower it or put weight on it, NEVER had this before. Any ideas?? If it is still the same in a week, I might make a physio appt.

Even the most experienced medical person wouldn’t make a diagnosis without some sort of examination.

You may have done some sort of cartilage ligament damage.

Unfortunately this can be easy to do.

My GP did suggest that a twisted knee can take 6 weeks to come good.

    Physio won’t do any harm.

If you are not looking for having an Xray or a date with our doc...its better that someone should 'Pull your Leg' Stick out tongue.....

I feel its more of an injury in the muscle fibers and hence stupidity to ignore it... :)
