    Hi Everyone

Just noticed this thread so I thought I better came and say hi.

Im Chrissy, married stay at home mum to 4 kids aged 13, 9, almost 4 and almost 3, we live in sydney.

over the last 10 years I have battled with my weight starting at 14 before I had my first child to 18 after hafter he was born right up to a 24 and up and down between 18 & 24.

Before getting pregnant with my 3rd child the weight suddlen piled on which I thought was due to a very stressfull job that was closing down, I got made reduant then fell pregnant. When she was 6 months old I discoverd a large lump in the side of my neck, so testing started. Then we moved from NZ to here and dicovered I was pregnant again (the younger 2 are 1 year apart) so further testing was done and thankfully cancer was rulled out and it was dicovered that my thyroid wasnt functioning which explained alot of my weight gain, so I was told after baby was born would need to have it removed. By the time he was 6 months old I was ready for surgery and they also dicovered that the lump was growing more and more and was pushing my windpipe sideways and I was having difficulty breathing at times.

So my thyroid was fully removed 1 & 1/2 years ago, I was told how much thyroxine to take and that was it, they said my weight should start to fall.  And being a busy mum I just got on with life.

I realized earlier this year that my clothes were starting to get tight and my thighs had grown alot and I was having alot of other concerning symptons including really bad short term memory loss, so I it was off to a doctor.

Who organised  a full blood test and the results came back that my thyroxine levels were way too low, so that was increased and she said I needed fortnightly blood tests then monthly untill under control then 3 Monthly.

So then I weighed myself, i was really shocked I had out on 20kgs since I had the operation, I was so upset and stunned.

Doc said not to worry to much as I was already eating heatly and exercising ocasionally I just needed to increase the exercise and hopefully once the Tyroxine levels are stabalized I should start loosing weight.

That was the begining of march, I didnt want to weigh myself again but at the end of may I thought it was time to bite the bullet and do it and I had noticed  my clothes were starting to loosen, so when I went in for my blood test results I weighed myslef and was surprised to discover I had lost 10kgs, doctor was unsure how much was due to the thyroxine working or down to me, but to continue with what I was doing. Which wasnt really much as I have found it very difficult to exercise with the younger 2.

When I went back to the docs last week it was 3 weeks later and I had lost another 3kgs.

So I am really motivated now to loose this weight, seeing results has been really positive, my first goal is to loose the 20 kgs Iv put on since the surgery and then go from there. Being over half way feels awsome.
