    Basal Metabolic Rate

    Hi Ray

thanks for all your great tools.Yes

I found the BMR the other night when I was doing up  my programs (newbie that I am). The best thing was is that it made this all make sense. I often wondered where the total recommended calorie intakes came from and now I know. Being a bit scientifically minded it has finally clicked Idea to me that weight loss is a purely mathematical exercise. And as such I am using it as my benchmark for my intake.

One question as you lose weight I assume your BMR will go down and as such will I need to review it periodically to ensure I keep losing weight?Tongue Tied

absolutely as your weight goes down your calorific needs do generally go down

be careful , its not quite a mathmatical exercise, your body will cleverly compensate for a too low input

Yes Kara, I'd check it every 3-4 weeks. In the end you'll get a good feel for what you can have
