When I started benching, I could do 30 which was bloody disgraceful for my size and age.
I can now bench 75KGs after about 3 months.
Basically what I did was I started benching on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Monday in my first week I would do 35 (5KGs above my comfortable zone) with 6 repetitions and 6-8 sets. Then I would do the same on Wednesday. On Friday, I would half the weight and do twice as many reps and sets.
Each Monday I would increase the weight by 3-5KGs. It works an absolute charm. I hope to be benching 100-120 by the end of this year. I am very confident I will be able to using this routine.
