Well i have now completed my first week of personal training with Vision.
Weighed 161.2 - Thought I was heavier so glad I had not put on the last 14 kgs I lost over the past 18 mths.
My first training session was cardio on Saturday with Nathan. We did treadmill, bike, cross trainer and step ups ( not on a machine just me step up and down for a period of time). All went well. I was actually surprised that I wasn't sore afterwards but my heart rate got up to 168 ( Ray: What should my heart rate be to burn fat?). I really like Nathan. Always a good start to like the trainer.
My second training session was also cardio on Tuesday with Jen. I wasn't sure if I would like Jen as I was watching her on Tuesday and she seemed hard. I was completely wrong she is fantastic. We did treadmill, rowing and boxing. Boxing is really hard. It always looks so easy on TV or watching others but i found it difficult especially the high ones. I realised after the workout that my upper body strength is very poor.
My third session was weights on Thursday with Nathan. First I got weighed - 2 kg loss. Nathan then reviewed my food planner for the week. Then we did a bunch of weights. It was funny because he would put a weight on and ask me if that was okay and if i could lift I would say yes. then i thought how should it feel so i asked him how it should feel. As it turns out i needed to increase the weight.
Also on Tuesday night I joined a shopping tour. Nathan ( the director not my trainer) took us to Coles and explained all about the labels and pointed out some healthy brands and we got the chance to ask him lots of questions.
In addition to my training with Nathan and Jen I also walked one day and swam another.
So first week complete and I am feeling great. So motivated and looking forward to my session with Nathan this morning. Loss of 2kgs. My arms are sore after the weights on Thursday, think I was uses muscles I have not used before. I will pop back each week and keep you all posted on my progress.
My learnings for this week
- Boxing is hard but great
- Broccoli tastes Great
- Training is not as bad as I thought. I always thought people would stare at me because of my size and not take me serious. I was very wrong
- Vision is fantastic - Small studio so never have to wait for machines, love the people so approachable and really take a personal interest in my training and weigh loss
