    Nooooo! Not Another Soap Opera!

We already knew that the host was changing for the US season 4, and we also knew that Jillian was coming back. That's all fine. But I've just read that they'll be changing from 'The Ranch' to much more basic accomodation so the contestants do it much tougher. It seems to me that they're trying to make the US series much more like the Aussie series - a soap opera.

I just hope it's not true!

Well, looks like to me for the past couple of seasons that the Aussie BL has been guinea pigs for ideas for the US show....

And it could also be because the US ratings are down somewhat since Miss RahRah came on board last year....

It may also be that the concept is getting tired and that the price paid by the networks may be less.

One way to save money would be to have more modest accommodation.

I would think that the US series the same as the Australian series would have plenty of volunteers to be contestants.

We have lots of contestants here in the US. I don't see it as a Soap Opera and I like the new accomodations. It just seems a little nicer but still being on focus. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for your input AzTater! Are the contestants happy enough with the way things are?

    Hi Aztater,

I don't mind that they're in the tougher setting, actually I quite like it. But our first series in Australia was much like the US version which was great, the 2nd series though was more like Big Brother.

I guess I just like the positive side of the show!

They seem to be happy. Everyone seemed to say they were excited about the new place.

Ray I haven't seen much of what could be construed at Big Brother like. But then again I haven't seen much since it just started. I am a bit disappointed with the way last night's show went. It was just the weigh in and voting out nothing more. I actually look forward to the workouts and the challenges. We raced home last night to make sure we were home in time for the show and it just seemed a bit disappointing. But it seems they are making up for it with a 2 hour show next week. I guess I like consistency and when that is changed up with shows and such I get a bit frustrated.

I too like the positive side of the show as I love to see everyone lose weight. Even when they get discouraged because they didn't lose as much weight as the week before. I always remind my partner and myself that it is hard to lose weight, and that they/we should be proud even with the small amounts that drop. :)
