fast,fascinating,even cringe worthy at times!
Guy Leech says he appreciates the show inspires many people but feels the need to warn viewers!
DO NOT copy these methods of dramatic weight loss!
The human body is not meant to be dormant for several years and constantly packing on the weight,
only then to be thrust into high intensity training!
Guys reservations were supported by the number of contestant withdrawals and health scares that have
besieged similar shows around the world!
Michelle Bridges is one of the personal trainers on the biggest loser and admits to having ethical issues with the
show before she joined!
"However the positive message that comes out of it is so overwhelming, these people have now literally got their
life back! says Michelle
Everyone gets so inspired even the sound crew and production crew have lost weight because they are surrounded
by positive people...sometimes Michelle is concerned that she pushes the contestants too far but they have all
had a health check and there is a medic with them 24 hours a day!
"People talk about the weight loss being too rapid but Michelle thinks its not fast enough!"
Its important also to recognise that its a tv show, its formated contrived and contestants have every resource at
their fingertips, including a complete support crew of weight loss experts!
Its all very well on TV but in real life we need to focus on sustainable changes such as walking more, bringing more
movement into our daily routines and making wise diet changes....but this advice DOESNT make for dramatic
TV viewing!
SENSIBLE WEIGHT LOSS
Michelle says here are a few ways that you can use the lessons of the Biggeset loser to help you shed some weight!
**If your very heavy or even obese, then get a doctor to check you out! The results will let you know if your body is ready
to take on a tougher regime!
**Reduce meat portions eat consistantly throughout the day but not too much from late afternoon!
**Get yourself a personal trainer if that sounds too expensive split the cost between yourself and one or two friends,
A good personal trainer costs between $50 to $80 per hour!
**If you cant afford this educate yourself to a healthier life and use the internet as a learning tool!
