WOW, what an achievement.
Sounds a bit too familiar with myself and the cultural issues of the food on the plate. I grew up with what seems like a similiar upbringing (Maltese) where eating was always a socialising aspect and with a mum who can't understand portion control other than to fill the entire plate. She's slowly learning, but she still cooks a big dish for her and dad and I find myself going a getting the leftovers which last for 2 meals for my bf and I and some for my nephew.
