    My story

Hi, I have successfully lost weight in the past but being an emotional eater I slipped back into old habits when I had a medical drama with my oldest son.  I gained 5 kilos in just 2 weeks. After that I guess I just lost my incentive and drive to keep up the exercise and healthy eathing I had been doing.

I am now at my heaviest I have ever been. Even during my 2 pregnancies I gain 20 kgs and still didn't weigh what i do now.  I am a lifetime member of WW but just feel now I can't go back to doing that all again.  I just feel really unmotivated about doing that sort of thing.

I am feeling more comfortable about doing this with you guys as reading the posts is really motivating and everyone is really supportive of each other. I have joined the gym and feel this is a step in the right direction now I just have to make myself go there.

At 46, I am feeling like 86! and I want that to change.

    Re: My story

    Hey there Loopy,

Firstly, congratulations on finding yourself on the BEST online forum ever. Everyone on here will help and motivate you and tell you that you are ok even when you slip up. Motivation is the key issue for a lifestyle change. No motivation = failure, so we need to work on your motivation.

From what you have said your motivation (to begin with) is that you are 46 years old and feel 86. You want to feel like you are 36 again? Or even 26? Take some time out and write down all of the things that you want to achieve when you have lost weight. I have written out a list and some of my goals are:

    • I'm studying to be a high school teacher and I DO NOT want to struggle to bend down and pick stuff up off the floor in front of the students.
    • I love my husband with al of my heart and I want our sex life to return to what it used to be.
    • I want to be pretty. I used to look in the mirror and see a little 8 year old girl staring back at me, screaming. This was me when I was getting abused as a child. I always saw her and felt I couldn't help her. I finally laid her to rest and this fat person stood there staring back at me. I couldn't believe it was me. Now I'm starting to see the person I can become. Use this. Everytime you look in the mirror don't see who you are (although keep an eye open for her because it's important to see yourself as you really are) but now look for the person you can be.

Remember the old saying....I know there is a skinny girl inside trying to get out.....now is the time to find her and set her free.

It is time loopy, for your motivation to kick in. You have made that first most important step by coming into this group. You are a beautiful lady who deserves to feel how she wants to feel.

Good luck honey and I hope to talk to you real soon.

    Love and BIG hugs

when you go onto this site, read through what the person has printed on their posting, if you want to comment to everybody, click on reply and what ever you write in the box will be posted to the open forum: well I think this is right, anyway, no harm in trying, I am not computer savvy either.  Skinny-Me

    Re: My story

I thought I was reading my own life story then, I too gained weight after pregancies, from 75kg to 130kg post pregnant.  Been there done that, WW, jenny craig, herbal life, Rosemary connelly and atkins.  At 41, time for a change, watching biggest loser, surfing the net for biggest loser and found this site. YES it is really motivating to find other people like me.  It will inspire me to weigh in every Monday. and to control my actions during the week.  Skinny-Me
