I am not superfit yet tend to have a slow pulse rate (normally around 56 - 60 at rest). When exercising and trying to get my heart rate between the 65 - 85% mark of 128.8 and 151.2 at times seems like an impossible task because I have to work myself in a frenzy to get it over 128 many times. I have a cross trainer and generally work it up to the highest resistance and do this for about 30 - 45 minutes, depending on time available. What else can I do to get into these two ranges (128 and 151). I am 52 years old. I also belong to Weight Watchers and follow a healthy diet. Advise will be appreciated.
