    Cool Quit Smoking Tool

Here's a cool little tool I came across recently that shows all the benefits you'll have if you quit smoking.

You just type in the date and time of when you quit, then it shows what health benefits you'd have so far as well as how much money you've saved and how much extra time you could have on this earth.

It's very visual rather than the usual simple calculators.

    You can see it here

Let us all know how much you've improved!

Actually I just quit smoking because I felt something in my lungs in which it disappeared when I stopped

    Re: Cool Quit Smoking Tool

I have had my stroke risk reduced to that of a non smoker! In fact I have almost reduced the risk of death to that of non smokers in general, thank you very much! I have not smoked for 10 years now. Not bad for someone that started at 11 years old, and only stopped to have kids!

Geez, ELEVEN? That is embarresing, when I think of my 10 yr old in bed down the other end of the house. In fact, on reflection, I have punished my body immeasurably over the years!!! I guess at least now I am treating it with respect, just a damn shame it took me so long. Imagine the health issues (joints etc especially) I caused all by myself through ignorance and neglect.

    Re: Cool Quit Smoking Tool

After almost 5 years non-smoking, I have added about a year to my life, and saved over $11000.  My chance of stroke is almost equal that of someone who never smoked.  My risk of cancers have decreased substantially.  In another ten years, my death risks will be equal that of a lifelong non-smoker.

One of the things I'm most proud of accomplishing because I know how many times I tried and failed - but in the end, I made to permanently non-smoking status.
