    Hello from a yank downunder:)

I am a Heart doctor's worst nightmare!  A junk food junkie that hates most veggies and I eat fruit once a month if that!  I am on anti-depressents and have a phobia about going out of the house alone.  Since I moved here from the countryside in Ohio, I don't know anyone but my husband.

10 years ago I weighed a healthy 52Kg.  I now weigh 94kg and have high blood pressure, and my family has a history on both sides of heart problems.  In January my dad had to have a heart valve replaced.  While I was there I stopped smoking, only to return here and start again.  I have a long way to go, but in time I know I can be healthy again!  Wish me luck!

    hi & welcome!

sounds like you're dealing with a few issues there so here's a little question for you...

    what can you change today?

it might be stopping all junk food at the door. it might be standing in front of the tv & doing a walk or exercise dvd each day, even for 10 minutes. it might be starting to get yourself used to the idea of making friends....

there's loads of things that you can do without causing yourself stress due to your phobia.

anyway hang in there you'll find new friends here & who knows, you might find the courage to walk out the door & go for a walk around your block one day!

    Hi Dzblond,

    Welcome to the forum!

You just need to get started. Something as simple as walking each day can make a huge difference to your health. Even if it's only 20 minutes!
