Register interest for a July Cardio Challenge

Please register your interest here to participate in an individual challenge to do 'x' minutes of cardio in the month of July. June's challenge was to complete 1500 mins in 30 days (50 mins a day). I'm proposing we set the goal posts at 1860 minutes for the 31 days in July (that means an average of 60 mins a day).

    So far there is:

    1. Paramedic_Student
    2. WendyKate
    3. nchalm20
    4. Cindyrella
    5. DivineMissJ
    6. Shazwa
    7. Cowgirl
    8. LaLa
    9. Coops
    10. tristunet007

Come on - who else is up for the challenge? Just 1 more day to take up the challenge. Then, it's all GO on Saturday 1st of July.

As per June, each of us will log our daily cardio in this thread (unless we start another one for that?).

*** By the way everyone, please don't feel you're a failure if you don't make it to the above mentioned target at the end of the month. Even if you do half of that amount for the month you are doing a fabulous thing for yourself and your health. I guess by doing more cardio you will speed up your rate of weight loss. Aiming for 30 mins a day on most days of the week is in itself a fantastic achievement. So, I don't want anyone downing themselves if they "can't keep pace", OK? Promise me...

    Re: July Cardio Challenge

Yep, put me in as well. I have never joined one of the challenges before so it's about time I did, it will also make me push a bit harder as I only do about 40 mins cardio a day.

    Count me in.
What i'll do is take a reading from each saturday to saturday with what I've done on my pedometer (it keeps a weekly history)... I reckon I'll be able to do it this month. June was a bust for me *sigh*

    Yay Cardio !!!

    Re: July Cardio Challenge

    Yep, I'm in as well.

Just a question - is there a rule about how strenuous this cardio is meant to be LOL? I just know that I haven't been pushing myself as hard as I could for the june challenge. Maybe we can set our own mini goals - so for me I could not count it unless my HR is above, ummm, Ray, suggested minimum???

    Re: July Cardio Challenge

darlingest if you can keep your HR over 120bpm you will be in a good zone. 130-140 excellent. don't let it go below 120 though while you are doing the cardio.

    luv kaz
(who scarily just channelled ray for the minimum rate LOL)
