We'd like your input and suggestions please

    Hi,

I think I've said in a couple of posts that Ray and I are overwhelmed and delighted at your response to the FOH sites and in particular this forum - THANK YOU ALL.

So great has the response been that we are having to make decisions way ahead of when we planned to - strategy on the run LOL.

So that we can continue to provide, and indeed expand upon, our existing services we are looking into sponsorship of the site.

However, in keeping with the aims and philosophy of FOH, we want to get your input and suggestions.

So if you have a few minutes to ponder, please let us know what kinds of sponsors, products or services would be beneficial to you the members. It goes without saying that we would never entertain anything that we didn't believe was not in keeping with real health and well being.

    Thanks in advance.

AK, I think your last paragraph sums it all up really.  I dont think any one of us on here want to see something advertised that isnt in keeping with the whole philosophy of the site.  I am pretty sure I can speak for a lot of us on here in that we wouldnt want to see advertising from people such as Jenny Craig or The Atkins Diet!

Re: We'd like your input and suggestions please

Only products and services that promote healthy lifestyles.

    Example:

Fitness product and services - gyms, exercise equipment like fitballs

I have this xbox game called "Yourself fitness" if one of the trainers has an xbox can you check it out and rate it for me please! I think its pretty good tbh and alot of the excercises are what i do in my abs butts and thighs class.. it has its own personal trainer which you use to set up your own class.. it gets you to do a series of exercises and check your heart rate etc. I would just like a proffesionals opinion on it before i go to crazy with it.

    thanks Ladywolf

I'd love to try it out but I don't have an Xbox. I'll check with the others!

Re: We'd like your input and suggestions please

Just a little suggestion on the forum.

Could we have a eating/food section?  I know there's the recipe section but it doesn't really cover questions about foods, quantities, calories, fat content etc etc.

As for sponsors... how about gym equipment hire?

    O.K. I'm stuck here at 13kgs! *cry*

Re: We'd like your input and suggestions please

Do we already have somewhere where we can go and check out calories etc.

Kinda like the menu planner but as I'm not a strict dieter I'd like the freedom to put in the foods I eat or want to eat and see how the fats/calories stack up.

Re: We'd like your input and suggestions please

Argakant, I was thinking maybe we could have a system where lossers are awarded a Star or a smiley or something similar. It could give us an incentive and something to aim for (Other than the obvious). eg. 1 star = 1 kilo (blue star), 5 kilos a red star, 10 kilos a purple star and so on, then maybe a prize or ph call as a reward (?). Just a suggestion. Might not work though. I mean, how do we prove we have lost the weight? Stupid idea. Will keep the thinking cap on.

No so stupid Wannabthin, I've been trying to think of something along those lines too.

The only thing we can do at the moment is on post count (which we may start soon)

Is that the one where you kick the balls and puch them??? I like that and the exercises are good too. It really gets the heart rate going. It is so cool now hoe they are making games too where you use your body as the joy stick. It gets the kids up and active when they can be hover board skate champions!

Re: We'd like your input and suggestions please

I think there needs to be a differentiation between advertising and endorsement.

Logically you could not endorse something without examining it first.

Perhaps some sort of product review section would be interesting.

What products are worthy and those that aren’t raises all sorts of issues and potential for conflict.

Personally I think member rating systems need to be used cautiously if someone is new/inexperienced it doesn’t make their thoughts/opinions less valid.

Re: We'd like your input and suggestions please

I also think that the products need to be evaluated, I can say from experience that some products programs didnt work for me, but i know people that benefited greatly from them. I could happily endorse a few products that I know worked for me and after studying a lot of dietetics and nutrition as well as doing my bach. of nursing, I know these products are aimed towards wellbeing rather than just sales and marketing. BUT I think rather than each member posting them openly, they should be emailed or pm'd to ray etc so they can check them out, and also they may need to contact the companies involved first as well. (legal stuff i know little about lol).

    Cheers,

    Dollfinn!
