    Re: Paramedic_Student's Tally

    Hi Ray,

A question? are we just calculating walking for each day? and are we working in time spent, not distance coverered?

June 3rd - 50 mins walk, 30 mins stationary bike, 10 mins abswing.

    Cheers WendyKate

    Re: Cardio Challenge 'Rules'

    WendyKate

We're counting ANY FORM OF CARDIO, in MINUTES. I, for one, don't know how many km's I do when I go walking outdoors.

So basically anything except strength/resistance/weights counts - unless, however, your HR is elevated during the session. So, a circuit type thing probably would count.

This is not advocating that strength training is BAD - far from it. Ray would suggest doing weights 3 times a week (I'm guessing)? I would be right by saying that most people here have the goal of fat loss and I know that cardio, in conjunction with a balanced healthy diet, and weights, is the winning formula.

I'm off to uni now to borrow some books from library (only open for a few hrs on weekends) and then I'm doing a walk: aim 50 mins.

Spread the word about the June Cardio Challenge - the more the merrier! It's not too late to join in :)

    Re: June's 1500min Tally

I'm assuming this challenge is still on even though we have a new Loser comp? So here's my tally:

    carried over 500min

    11 June 90min = 590

    12-16 June sick (no exercise)

    17 June 90min = 680

    18 June 90min = 770

Hmmm, only 12 days left and 730min to go... Ok, so that's at least 60min every day. I can do that!!

Cardio Challenge still on - 9 days remaining (including today)

Yes, this challenge is still on, Coops. Are you finding it's giving you an additional goal to strive to achieve? It is for me. I have an excel spreadsheet happening, and I know exactly what I've done, how many mins remaining and how many mins I have to do each day to meet my challenge target of 1500 mins for the month. It gives you something else to focus on other than food and the number on the scales!!!

Hope it's helping to motivate others too.

Idea [I] We could have another one in July too, Ray? And up the goal posts to give those who do make the 1500 mins a bigger challenge?
