    Bondi_Girl

I have posted this in another thread, but maybe it was in the wrong section.

I live in Sydney and as is obvious by the name, in Bondi.  I turned 36 about a month ago and thought to myself enough is enough.  I need to make a change for the better.  i've told myself this at various times over the years, but never really meant it.

I started at at 116 kilos when BL started, and am down to 110.

I'm five foot even and want to get down to about 58 kilos.  I've reached this once before.  That was when I was 18.  I was on holiday for six months, staying with some relatives overseas.  Woke up one morning and decided that was it.  Got mum to post me the diet book I had and some multivitamins.  Managed to lose 30+ kilos in about 4 months.  Looking back, not the healthiest way to do it.  Was on a high protein diet and there was no fruit or vegetables.  Surprise <img src=" src="/forums/emoticons/emotion-3.gif">  Also didn't teach me how to eat properly either as I was limited food wise.  Needless to say, I put the weight back on over the course of a couple of years.

Got a major motivation starter in 1999.  My brother (who was 35) passed away suddenly from ischemic heart disease.  Basically, his arteries was blocked.  Came as a shock as he was the healthy one.  Into sport, was thin etc.  That made me stick to a weight loss plan for about two months.  Then just lost the motivation.

I am currently in the motivation stage again, and am hoping this time it'll last.  I've armed myself with more ammo this time though.  I've got this website and the show.

If you read this far, thanks!  Look forward to getting to know everyone better.

    Re: Bondi_Girl

Hi bondi_girl. So sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. I can't imagine the pain of that. Thank God you found this site as there are great people to help get you motivated and keep you on track. There is a recipe section too, exercises that you can do at home and a diet that you could follow. Best of all though, we are all here for the same reason and in that way we can and do help one another.

Knowing what one can and can't eat is half the battle and now I need to learn 'portions' as my brain doesn't seem to register when enough is enough. Maybe I should get some food scales for that. If you find anything of good motivational value, please pass it on.
