I'd make sure you wear your pedometer - you're probably blitzing 10 000 steps a day without even realising it ... and getting a good weight workout as well.  Give your body time to adjust to your new schedule before worrying about pushing it more or you could end up unwell.  You're doing a great job - well done on the changes you've made!

Re: No such word as Can't. Lana's New Lifestyle!

I find my eating habits have slacked since starting full time. As i have to be at work by 4.45am i'm basically jumping out of bed and going to work not having breakfast but have hit the coffee machine trap! Have had a cappuccino nearly everyday sometimes having even 2 or 3, Then i get home about 10.45am and finally have something to eat. During my morning shift i have a fair bit of cleaning to do plus i use a polisher which i have down packed to 1hr30mins to do the entire floor instead of 2hrs..yay Plus a good couple of hours strolling around making sure everything is A ok, then in the afternoon its mainly walking and some light cleaning.

I need to eat something before i go - maybe a museli bar or a piece of fruit then have some cereal when i get home, then a nice lunch, and a snack before i head back for afternoon shift.

Like most things i know what i should be doing but putting it all into practice is another story Big Smile [:D]

Sounds like a plan. Big Smile [:D]

I found that I used to rely on caffeine hits to get me through the day - sometimes up to 10 a day as I work from home and during the busy period from Sept - Dec (pre Christmas markets) my only chance to get any work done was after 8.30pm when the kids were in bed.  I'd get stuck into the coffee and end up getting my second wind at 11pm and there was no point trying to get to sleep until the coffee had started to wear off at 1am'ish..... only to be totally shattered the next day, but to do the same thing again.  A coffee in the morning was all I wanted to get started for the day.

It took me about 6 weeks of cutting back gradually by a cup every couple of days, eventually one every second day.  Then I did a detox through a naturopath for 2 weeks and didn't have any and I haven't had a cup since - over twelve months.  My energy levels are a lot more balanced through the day now and I still look forward to having a "cuppa" to finish off each meal, only now its either a green tea or a dandelion tea (looks & tastes like coffee but helps with fluid retention).  I don't crave coffee anymore and the thought of a milky latte - my main weakness - nearly turns my stomach.

Don't know why I've given you a lecture on the evils of coffee - lol  Huh? [:^)]   Probably just trying to catch a habit before it becomes something you heavily rely on to get you through the day

I have never been a coffee fan. it makes me feel sick... but I love my hot chocolates in colder weather, or green teas in warmer weather. I tried V for a pick me up... but didn't really like it... I love my brocca preformance. it makes a HUGE diffrence.

I'm not usually a huge coffee drinker, most of the times i would be lucky to have a cup every few days. But since working and having the machine that gives you ten million choices i seem to be having heaps. Latte's are my sin of choice!

I'm having just for the sake of it, not for quick energy as i have never got that from coffee. I could drink a pot of it and still go to sleep. There are heaps of water fountains so i will skip that coffee and have more water, i'm currently drinking over 2lts a day which is a shock for me as i have major troubles with drinking water - but since working here i tend to have it all the time which is good.

ohhh what a long morning! Did not stop moving for the entire morning and i got a weights workout in i think - had to get supplies! Carried 6 large and very heavy boxes and a few small ones from storeroom to cleaning room which is about 200/300 metres apart. My arms felt like jelly afterwards, took me 30mins.

Dont finish at work untill after 6.30 tonight so it'll be something quick and easy for tea - thinking maybe burgers unless hubby cooks something. Hint hint yeltneb! Wink [;)]

Re: No such word as Can't. Lana's New Lifestyle!

I was sent this poem today and it made me cry, it was a lovely collection of words that help to describe the loss of a baby through miscarriage.

    What Makes a Mother

I thought of you and closed my eyes
    And prayed to God today.
I asked what makes a Mother
And I know I heard him say...
    A mother has a baby
    This we know is true.
But, God, can you be a mother
when your baby is not with you?
    Yes, you can He replied,
    With confidence in His voice.
    I give many women babies
When they leave is not their choice.
Some I send for a lifetime,
And others just for a day.
And some I send to feel your womb,
But there's no need to stay.
I just don't understand this God,
    I want my baby here.
He took a breath and cleared His throat
And then I saw a tear.
I wish I could show you
What your child is doing today.
If you could see your child smile
    With other children and say:
"We go to earth to learn our lessons
Of love and life and fear.
My mommy loved Oh so much
I got to come straight here.
I feel so lucky to have a mom
Who has so much love for me.
I learned my lessons very quickly,
    My mommy set me free.
I miss my mommy Oh so much,
    But I visit every day.
    When she goes to sleep
On her pillow is where I lay.
I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek
And I whisper in her ear.
    Mommy don't be sad today,
I'm your baby and I'm here."
So, you see my dear sweet one,
    Your children are not blue.
Your babies are here in MY home,
They'll be at Heaven's gate waiting for you.
So now you see what makes a mother,
It's the feeling in your heart.
It's the love you had so much of,
    Right from the very start.
Though some on earth may not realize you are a mother,
    Until their time is done.
They'll be up here with Me one day,
And they'll know you were the best one!
