new to the forum, and into my 6th week now..

    g day all,

been looking around the site for a few weeks now. and gained some very valuable information already ! it looks like ray devotes all his time to helping people, what a champ !

im 23, a tradesman that has been in this job for 8 years (left school early - bad bad choice) i was always a little overweight but nothing too bad. when i left school and started working, i started with sausage roll breakfast and pies for lunch every day, followed by 2 beers and chips at the pub every arvo. and slowly put on weight untill 6 weeks ago i 114.5 kg at 170cms. I feel if i wasnt so active at work it would have been alot worse !!

so 6 weeks ago i got myself a gym membership, donated all my beer to mates (i always bought it in bulk to save money!! haha) and went to the other end of coles where they sell all kinds of funny looking food !

funnily enough, my workplace is right next door to a gym, very handy indeed.

so ive been at it for 5 weeks now, and although i havnt perfected the healthy way of eating it is so much better than it used to be.

starting at the gym the trainer there nearly killed me! and it was only 30 minute session !

now im up to 50 - 60 minutes of pretty hard cardio 4 days a week, more if i can get it in. ive made monday mornings weigh in day and this morning i was 109.0 a loss of 5.5 in exactly 5 weeks, and havnt felt better in a long time !

i actually look forward to waking up early, getting my work done early to get to the gym ! although the first 2 weeks i sure didnt feel like that.

    enough blabbering.

this is a great site and i look forward to sticking around !!

    steve.

oh and as a random side note i had met adro a few times before he went on biggest looser through car shows! he had an awesome mazda ute, anyone know what he drives now ?? lol..

great start Stevo - hardest part is looking at yourself and realising you really need to get going and then the second hardest part is actually moving. I have been on and off the gym circuit for years now - been with a trainer for 2 years but have become a bit to comfortable and don't really challenge myself so the weight is not moving (though I am fitter). Started 12 week program today thru here - going to follow it loosely - particularly the food- have been through weight watchers etc so have heaps of good recipes and know what I should be eating. Usually do well most of the day but the night time is the killer - snacking and even eating the kids school snacks (amazing how good milo bars can taste when you are craving). Tonight I went to my first outdoor fitness class - what a killer - sprints up hills forwards and backwards - killer squats and arm exercises - but I kept telling myself it is only an hour, you can do it and did really well. I am going to do that once a week, train with friends twice a week (doing cardio and program I have thru the site - thanks Ray), do a gym class another day and walk on my own on day 5.

I have 13 kilos to lose to lose to get in my helathy weight range (mind you at one time it was 30 kilos to lose so have done some good over the last 4 years - bad habits just keep creeping in!!)

5.5 is a huge loss and bet you are starting to get compliments - this is a bit of a challenge for me because of course I want to hear I am looking great but it is usually when the compliments start flowing that I let me guard down!)

Keep enjoying and I hope to be able to post an update as to how goals are going next week

    Hi guys,

    Welcome to the site!

I always see our member numbers increase each day but many people don't post so it's great to have you both adding to the site.

Steve, Adro currently drives a new Chrysler Nitro, but still has the Charade that he done up years ago, and a 1951 Ford Customline (current project). He does like his utes though.

thanks jac.. i agree the hardest part is to get moving ! but after a few weeks it just seems normal !

i dont like the sound of those up hill sprints ! lol. those bad habits that creep back in are terrible, my apprentice bought some caramel tim tams to work today and i just had to have one! haha. Sounds like ur doing good tho mate !

thanks ray, ive seen pictures of that charade he did ! not my cup of tea but was nice.

cant wait to see the customline, i happen to have 2 customlines i saved from a paddock years ago. a twin spinner and single spinner both utes. he was a panel beater wasnt he ?

Awesome work so far Steve and keep up the good work.

Maybe restoring a favourite of those old cars could be a reward for some hard work?

thanks for that ! i had a good session today with a few mates that really got the heart rate up for an hour !

as for the customlines, i plan on doing one of them one day ! but the way i want them done would be looking at around 80 - 100 thousand ! so need some lotto tickets to go with em :-)
