    Re: Day Six

Well done, have you considered a smoothie for brekky? Or even simply toast? (good bread though!)

    Day Seven

Today has gone well, 30 minute walk. eating was fine, i even managed a glass of tomato juice for breakfast. Smoothies for breakfast is a good idea, maybe i will go hunt out some cheap ingrediants for it.

Was feeling a bit down yesterday, and thought i had lost my mojo and would have to forse myself to excersise and eat right for the rest of my life. but I seem to have cheered  up today, so it maybe wont be so bad. I just have to remember, my birthday hits at the end of november, I could lose so much weight and feel so much better by then, I know if i dont then i will spend my birthday kicking my own a$$. thinkig of the weight i could have lost if only I'd tried harder. I really dont want to fail.

    Week 2

So the fist week has gone. I feel that i have done well, and i enter the secound week feeling strong.

Ok so excerise today was really good. I walked 6 laps of the netball courts, every lap has two coart lengths worth of jogging in it. I found i very hard to run two lengths in a row, but i came away feeling like i had had a good workout and not altogether hating it, so I will proberbly do it again. It took me half an hour or so. I am hoping if i add a court length of jogging in every few weeks I will be able to run around the whole lot eventually.

Later on I took the kids for a walk into town, to thje bank and the supermarket - Total time: One hour.

eating has been ok again, but not great. no brekky again (unless a coffee counts) lunch was good, Havent had dinner yet, but it will proberbly be baked beans on toast as I havent got any meat out.

    thats all for today.

    Week 2

Hmm, You may have a point Argakant. Wouldnt want to slack off now.

Woke up this morning with a very sore leg. It could be splinter shins, shin splinter (or whatever its called) But it is only in my left leg and I can feel it pulling at the sides, So i am picking its an old injury is flaring up (i broke my leg 7 years ago, and had a pin inserted). anyway I didnt want to break my morning excersise routine (not yet an autoimatic routine, but if i break it now it will be so hard to get it back), and yet I couldnt run as not only would it hurt but also i could further upset it. So i took a slow limp down to the shops to buy some bread - 30 mins.

Eating is starting to fail me a bit. I havent had a orgy of chocolate, lollies or sausages, but i have noticed a slackining of my attitude towards eating right. I have been eating the kids leftovers, or have an extra portion of meat at night. So I need to get that under control (before my aunty comes over and bashes me around the head with the scales hopefullyHmm)

It was shopping day today, and I brought some sultana bran, which I like to eat, so hopefully i can get some down for breakfast, I plan on setting the breakfast table before I go to bed, so hopefully that will help me to eat it.

Thats all, hope your all doing well.

    Re: Week 2

I just realized yesterday that I NEED breakfast.  I skipped breakfast yesterday I just had a coffee (not intentional just happened) and I was soooo hungry ALL day.  When I eat breakfast I don't find the need to snack so often during the day.  I was quite surprised at my discovery as I've never really been a breakfast person either.

    Weigh in 2

So here we are at the end of the second week, and its time to face the scales again. I do feel that I havent put as much effort into weightloss in the past week, as I did previously, So anyway, Here are the results .  . .

    lost this week - 1kg

Total lost (two weeks) - 4.5kg

    That wasnt so bad.

Ok well moving on  . . . Last night I decided I was going to have a day off from excersise today. I havent had a day off in two weeks, so I figured i could have one. However I decided to take the kids on a picnic lunch. We went to a little peice of farmland called Yarndleys bush. As it turned out the picnic turned into a 20 min stroll through the bush and then fivce minites of puffing and panting up one of the steepest hills i have ever seen to get to the picnic site, So i guess I excersised after all.

Eating has been great so far. . .  Sultana bran for brekky, with trim milk. Lunch was salad sammys, with a little cheese and a boiled egg. dinner is coooking - It will be vegetasble soup and maybe some toast to go with it. This week I have decided to try a vegeterian diet, not because I dont like meat, but because I love meat, and when i have a little I want more. I have no willpower over it, and I feel the amount of meat i consumed last week was far above what i needed, so for a week i will try to live without it, and will see how it feels.

Well thats all - keep up the good work everyone!

    Re: Weigh in 2

    Welcome to FOH Duma!

I've really enjoyed following your journal so far! Yes, it is best to write in it every day!! The good, the bad and the ugly! We need to journal the good and bad so we (and others ) can see where some of the issues lie.

Take it from me...it's far too easy as (AK) said...for one day to become 1 week...and then 1 month and then you crumble without any support, but think you can "get back to it when you want to"!...but then you realise that the support you needed was right back here where you found it in the first place, if that makes sense!?

You should be extremely proud of your 4.5kgs weightloss! Do you realise that is 9....yes tubs of margarine!!? Clap

Be very proud of the great start you have made towards a healthier ,longer life.

See how you go with the meat..but be careful you replace it with enough nutrients and calories from something else.

Have you tried portioning your meat? just take out what you need for one meal and freeze the rest.

Your meat portion should be no bigger than the palm of your hand apparently.

Don't forget the value of drinking plenty of water. You would need at least 2 litres a day. ( your water intake can include green/peppermint/herbals teas...but not coffee!) Stick out tongue

The picnic and "incidental" exercise sounds great.

Yarndley's Bush? I think that is up near Te Kuiti somewhere? I had rellies live there as well as Hamilton & Ngaruawahia and visited them a few times, years ago (fellow Kiwi here Wink )

Have a good week and keep up the excellent work so far!

Don't over think things too much...you've had a good 2 weeks...now with other small changes, you just have to do it again.Yes
