For each kilo you lose, reward yourself with some nice lingerie (well, maybe not if you are male - substitute for something else!). It does not have to be expensive, I have set a budget of $10. As you get smaller, you will have a nice collection of lingerie and you can throw out your Bridgette Jones undies.

Here's another one. When I am walking I imagine Pacman (an electronic game character from the eighties) making his way around a maze by eating yellow dots. The pacman is fueled by me walking and the dots are my fat cells being burnt during the exercise. There is a tune - can't remember the title, but Pacman moves to the music. Strange I know, but it works for me!

When you are eating, sing "Happy Birthday to you...etc etc"  to yourself while you are chewing (it takes about 10-15 seconds). Only when you finish the song can you take another bite. This slows down the speed at which you eat and gives your stomach time to let your head know you are full, and you end up eating less. Plus it makes the food easier to digest. It can be difficult to follow a conversation at the same time, however after a while it becomes habit to eat slightly slower.

This tip was given to me by my psychologist when i started treatment for an eating disorder last year - it really helps me!

    Hi guys,

The publisher has got back to me and they aren't interested in using your username for the forum. I told them I wasn't giving your names to them so I'll only be including those tips from people who get back to me saying that they're are fine with providing the following info:

    Name (first only)

    Age

    Current weight

    Amount lost

I'll need to know pretty soon too!

Re: What's your best weight loss tip?

I go to the gym within 5 minute walking distance from my work, everyday either lunchtime or after work and before going home (even if at times I don't want to go).   I've stuck to this routine for many years now and I haven't looked back  I've lost 16kg and haven't gained any of them back, I still need to lose 10kg to reach my ideal weight and keep it for good.   I don't diet and eating too much is my problem (ice cream and all the sweet things).  I do the Les Mills classes at the gym so it's nevey boring.

I also think the article below has given me some insight on how to manage my weight.

Re: What's your best weight loss tip?

For a lot of people it is time consuming and a bit hard to plan a meal that includes veggies, fruits etc. So what i do (and really worked for me!) is to distribute my day in the following way:

1.IM A MONKEY IN THE MORNING!

Morning: Only fruits.  I usually like to play with the blender and put all the fruits i can think of, or have available,to make a nice healthy (and very filling!) juice that keeps me going through out the day. Its so easy, all you have to do is identify a fruit and place it inside the blender.

    2. Half a vegan Half a Fisherman lunch!

Take a big dish and mentally divide it into two.  Place grilled/steam fish (or also chicken...but avoid red meat!) on one side. Fill the other half with veggies...any veggie you can find and think of ( raw fresh veggies are better)- Aim to have that half of the dish as colourful as possible :)!

    3. Whatever I want Night!

Ok, is not like 'whatever  i want' but is very likely that since you have put effor during the day you wont want to mess it up at night. So usually i have a small bowl with brown rice and tofu or chicken or fish. Sometimes I have tuna salad...whatever thats healthy :)

Hope its helpful, i created this concept after reading a couple of books on how to loose weight...but maybe is somehow not healthy.

Also: throughout the day drink green tea!

Re: What's your best weight loss tip?

Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. Fruits and vegetables are packed with beneficial fibers, vitamins and antioxidants. They fill up your stomach fast so you feel full earlier. They are also low in calories and helps to keep your calorie count low.

Do not Skip Meals. Eating small frequent meals help to balance your calorie intake throughout the day and also keeps your blood sugar level balanced. Instead of eating 3 big meals, try to eat 5 - 6 smaller meals throughout the day.

Watch for the sugary drinks. Juices, pop, cream & sugar in your coffee or tea all add up. Opt for drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. In addition to providing hydration to your body, it will also help you feel full.
