    I still remember when I was a really little kid dad used to take us to the seafood market really early in the morning and we'd have fresh prawns & crabs on Xmas morning- funnily enough we often still have fresh seafood for breakfast (and the rest of the day) on Xmas day.

    Does a champagne breakfast work?  You can get away with serving healthy finger food rather than fried stuff?  I had this really yummy dip the other day and it's easy to make- 97% fat free whole egg mayonaise mixed with curry powder and you serve it with raw veggies- broccoli, capsicum, carrot & cherry tomatoes.

    I bought Slimming and Health to read Adro's story this month (story is excellent, FAR better that New Idea).  The attached calendar has some nice recipes, and there is one for mini-quiches.  I noticed them because they are only 2 carbs each (sorry, can't recall the Kj and it's upstairs but they looked yummy with egg, spinach and a couole of other nice ingredients.  Would be good cold or hot.

    I suppose with often having a few cool drinks the night before a big glass of cool water is not entering into the spirit of Christmas.

    Party!!!  Well depends on how much cooking you want to do for brkfst

    Me I like to have time out; and little prep for christmas day; let the dishwasher do the work and I like to do all my prep christmas eve and the week before

    Here is my plan for xmas breakfast;

    MInt jelly made from steeped mint leaves with sucryl and hot water (4tblspns) and gelatine to make it set like brought mint jelly;  no calories there

    Fresh fruit salad with the mint jelly and lemon juice; then I thought I would place the fruit salad into parfait glasses with fresh pineapple and mint leaf decorating the rim

    served with fromais or similar light yoghurtie type topping and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar made from equal sugar substitute and cinnamon.

    drinkies would be diet lemonade in place of the sparkling wine; and I have brought pretty decorations for the table instead of concentrating on spending money on the food side of things.  I looked at books and saw how they made the table look pretty; and thought I can do that; I offered to do a fresh fruit platter for lunch too; and offered to make a salad;

    Stir fried mushrooms and peppers on couscous

    1 serving = 0.7g fat (Plus calories from couscous)     Prep time 20 mns    cooking time 10 mins

    4 peppers any colour     225 button mushrooms     zest and juice 1 lemon     1 tblsp light soy sauce    1 tblsp chopped chives

    Make couscous according to directions

    Core and seed peppers; dice and place in bowl; rinse mushies; dry and add to bowl; combine lemon and soy - shake well and coat the peppers and mushies.   Heat a wok until hot.  Add veges and cook quickly over high heat.  mix into couscous and sprinkle with chives.

    As for me I know that if I plan now; I am mentally prepared for christmas day and what I can eat; and the other recipes look good too.

    Every Christmas we have Hawaiian Delights for breakfast - big family tradition.

    Toast with ham, slice of pineapple and a slice of cheese - Melt under the grill.   ( Of course you can use light cheese and unsugared pineapple)

    Everyone loves it and its easy.
