    Re: LaLa's Journal

Thanks so much for that Morgan. Not sorry I asked,LOL...though I may well have prevented a few braincells from being lost due to trying to get my head around itStick out tongue [:P]

    ----------

Have had another good day today. My dd had a party to go to at a park,so while she was there,my other dd and I just walked. We then had lunch and I asked the cafe to make me a roll with chicken and salad with no butter or mayo(as per the pre-made ones)

When we got home,I then did around an hour walking on the treadmill, mixing it up a bit too with...wait for it.....Jogging!!!!!!!!

    Haaaaaa*Me*!!!,JOGGING!Surprise [:O]Who is this person????Shock3 [shock3]ROTFL [ROTFL]

Anyway,I actually pulled out the emergency stop button on the darn treadmill, when I dropped my walkman...so lost all my data. Then I tried a program on the treadmill, which then kept going down to speed#1..,tried another...then gave that up as a bad joke and just walked and intermittently *jogged*(I use the term loosely!)Wink [;)] for another half hour. All up @ 1 hour..and about 4 kms approx.

My first week is up tomorrow...and I will weigh myself.Don't want to start getting all obsessive about 'The Scales'!!,so I'm not going to live by them(iykwim?)Stick out tongue [:P]

One thing I have noticed tonight is how hungry I am.Had dinner at 6.45pm and since 9pm,I've been quite hungry. Now it is 12.30am and although I'm not about to eat now.I'll certainly need an ample brekkie in the morning.Wink [;)]

Perhaps I didn't eat enough cals today.Am about to check in with CK,so will see how I went.

*ETA- just calculated my intake and factoring in my exercise I've only had 700 cals today. No wonder I'm hungry now!*

Will have to do better tomorrow!!Confused [8-)]

    Re: LaLa's Journal

Well, this morning I weighed myself, seeing as it is a whole week since I started eating better and exercising every day and am very pleased to report that I've lost 1.6 kgs this week!(yaaaay for me)Clap [clap]Big Smile [:D]

    Today I walked 4kms,which took @45 minutes including a 5 min warm up/down.

I'm feeling so much more energetic and I feel fantastic! My body hasn't been craving bread which is funny because I am a big bread eater, but have been cutting it right back for the time being, compared to what I used to.Haven't cut it out altogether though!

I've been very careful with counting calories this week and have gone under 1200 once or twice when I've factored in the exercise, but tonight I had some yogurt and fruit after dinner which brought it up to 1200 again.Later last night I was starving and then found out I was well under my cal allowance,so a bit of trial and error going on atm,lol

Kids back to school tomorrow,so back to spending half my life in the car.

*note to self* ALWAYS take water and vege sticks/fruit snacks..(it takes me an hour and a half to pick the kids up due to kids at 3 different schools/different finishing times and then waiting for the bus for 2 of them.Always bored and hungry in the car!!

I'll have to ensure I have that covered with better planning!

    Re: LaLa's Journal

Isn't it great when you see some results for all the work you've done this week - not just the fantastic result on the scales, but your increased energy levels and the change in food cravings.

    Terrific start!

    Hello fellow west aussie!

Big yay for the 1.6kg weightloss - fantastic stuff!  I like your idea of planning healthy snacks to take with you - that is certainly a particular downfall of mine.

Its great that you are feeling more energetic and also that you are trying to stick to your 1200 calories and not falling below.  And just think how good you feel now and that things will only keep becoming more like that!

    Re: LaLa's Journal

    Thanks Harri and Marissa.

Harri I think I haven't been craving for those foods I used to ,because I am eating more often, believe it or not and also satisfying my body with good wholesome food.

In the past,I would have breakfast at 10am,then lunch and 2pm,eat carb loaded stuff between then and dinner and then eat dinner as well, which was almost always included carbs.I'm not cutting out carbs, but I have made a point not to eat them for dinner *every night*.Haven't had any carbs at dinner for a whole week, then tonight,I was running out of time to do my walk and there was no way I was going to give myself an 'out',so I got the boys to cook spag bol while I hopped on the treadmill. I was oblivious to all the arguing going on in the kitchen as I had my music on my ears...*really* loud!

Today was also dd's 12th birthday,so I allowed myself a small piece of cake.To tell you the truth,I didnt enjoy it one bit! Sadly, all I could think of was how many calories were in it!!!Shock3 [shock3] ROFL...who is this foreign personWink [;)]

Marissa-I think the car is a hard place for alot of people.I have a chup-a-chup in the car for those moments when I might crave something bad!(the kids have been warned not to touch it,LOL)Yes,I'm hoping to gain so much energy I'll be dangerous! LOL

    So,today I walked 4 kms in 45 minutes

    Brekkie- weetbix fruity,hi/lo milk,yogurt,blueberries,green tea

Lunch- Tilda Oriental Basmati rice,2 slices cape seed bread,1 cup chopped carrot/red capsicum, coffee

Dinner- Lean heartsmart mince spag bol/sauce(300gm) and thin spaghetti(200g),3 small pieces garlic bread, small piece chocolate cake.

Almost don't want to count my cals today!!Confused [8-)]

hi lala, i wouldnt worry about the cake, your intake looks pretty good, so one slice of cake wont kill you.

now you know not counting those calories is naughty! Stick out tongue [:P]

i know that feeling about cake guilt, i once thought of donuts as deep fried flour, never been the same since

    Re: LaLa's Journal

    Thanks FalineSmile [:)]

Morgan,I did count cals for *that* day,but it wasn't good!Shock3 [shock3]Wink [;)] Then my CK free trial ran out so I couldn't use it (until I d/loaded another 7 day free trial on my laptop,LOL)I bought Alan Borushek's Cal counting book, but must say it's alot more time consuming than CK!Huh? [:^)]

Have been really busy and have missed being in here for 2 days!! Some night's the kid's need both computers for their homework and by the time I get near it,I'm too tired.Making up for it tonight though!

I have been walking *every* day on the treadmill for 45 minutes and do 4kms(If I get in a few jogs,I'm just hitting the 200 cals burnt in that time, according to the treadmill monitor, but most charts have it higher,so I have no *real*idea how many cals I burn, but not worried atm,as long as I can achieve around .5-1 kg loss a week)The last few days I have even been jogging a little, like 1 minute of jogging in every 4-5 minutes.I can really feel my fitness improving now after 2 weeks of walking! I feel fantastic. So much more energetic. I can't believe I have been so disrespectful to my body for so long!

I'm hoping to stretch my times out over the next few weeks. I still can't get over the fact that I have been jogging...albeit in short bursts!Stick out tongue [:P]Cool1 [cool1]

I have been sticking to 1200 cals a day(except for my dd's birthday) and have been enjoying eating healthier. So much more satisfying and I find I am not craving anything!! Funny, because I was expecting to be craving sugar or more carbs or something...Apart from 4 allen's snakes and a piece of choc cake,I have had no pies, fast food,potatoes,chocolate,chips,dip,icecream,sugar.. for 2 weeks.I was expecting I'd miss *something*...perhaps that is to come...!Hmm [^o)]

I have also greatly reduced the amount of bread I eat.Drinking heaps of water too and keeping my food diary! I have been trying out lots of new recipes from the Symply Too Good To Be True cookbooks I have had for a couple of years..I *love* these cookbooks!Yes [Y]

Best get to bed,or I'll be seeing the sunrise, lol

    Re: LaLa's Journal

Walked and jogged today for 45 min.Even tried the incline on the treadmill a few times!Jogging is getting easier! Never thought I'd say that!Grin1 [grin1]

Checked in with Calorie King and found I am 300 calories 'under' today. It was more than that,so I had some supper.Rice crackers and rice cakes with hommus and still 300 cals to go.Bugger,I could have had some wicked stuff today!!Stick out tongue [:P]

I'm finding I have trouble some days actually eating enough!WOW-I think some alien has come and taken over my body!

I took my girls to the movies today and avoided the popcorn. We took a bottle of water each and the girls shared a small popcorn. I wasn't even tempted, funnily enough.

I'm surprised at how easy this has been. It's quite scary as I'm thinking...this seems just too surreal for me to be doing this and not having issues with itSurprise [:O]

I'm not the same person I was 2 weeks ago.I woke up on Anzac day and something had clicked(and it wasn't my hips for a change,LOL)

I keep thinking that one day soon I might crash and burn or have a mini meltdown!Explode [explode]

Argakants 'Gollum' has visited a few times, but I told him to bugger off!Boxing2 [boxing2]

Life is great and I'm so much more energetic.Jumping2 [jumping2]

I must take my measurements tomorrow.I'm so annoyed with myself for not doing it when I started,as I know I have lost cms! My most fav denim 3/4 pants are getting way too loose and I can actually get them off  without having to undo the buttons and zip! (my new party trick?!Wink [;)])Today in the supermarket I spent half the time hitching up my pants! How cool is that!!?

    Off to have a bedtime milo!Smile [:)]

    Re: LaLa's Journal

    Hi Lala,

You're doing great. I love reading all the positives you post in here. It's great to see you noticing all the positive changes yourself.  My partner has a pile of weights, which he keeps in a corner for me and each week we add to the pile, which represents my weight loss from the start. I carry them around the house a few minutes. It's not easy carrying around a pile of weights!

It makes me realise how much extra stress I was applying to my body every single waking moment!  It also gives me the motivation to continue.

Well done.. and keep it up. We're cheering for you.

    Re: LaLa's Journal

Thanks Cindy. Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblingLol [lol]

You have done so well yourself! Yes [Y]WOW,I can't wait til I get the first 10 kgs down!Weee [weee]I can imagine seeing and carrying those weights must feel just so wonderful, knowing that you have lost all that weight off your body! Fantastic !

Today I went to the beach for my walk and my 12 yr old dd and I walked from Mettams Pool to Observation City at Scarborough...and back! (Perth ppl will know where I mean) Anyway, there were a couple of hills in there and I managed to keep up my 5.5km pace almost the entire walk. Was a beautiful sunny afternoon and it was so lovely walking there rather than staring at a brick wall on my treadmill. Here I was sweating away and dd wasn't even hot.She even jogged up the hills and met me at the top!I could have jogged up them in all honesty, but was a little self conscious about jogging in public for some strange reason.Hmm [^o)](silly LaLa!!!)

I was soooo starving when we got home,so I made my fav lunch atm-(wholemeal mini pita bread pizza's) I loaded them up with low cal toppings and ate two.

In a previous life(before FOH and TBL!),I would most probably have stopped off at McFat's for a 'healthy' McChicken comboSurprise [:O]... with a diet coke of course!Stick out tongue [:P]

I'll weigh myself tomorrow as I've designated Monday's as my scales day.

I updated my ticker to reflect the1 kg I lost in the 2 weeks before I joined FOH,simply by cutting down on carbs and drinking more water.Tomorrow, hopefully I'll be able to change my ticker again:)

    Night all:)

    Thanks CG and Ray:)

I lost .8 this week so am happy with that considering I am still trying to build my fitness up a bit before I get into more strenuous pursuits!Wink [;)].At least the scales are moving in the right directionStick out tongue [:P]

Can't believe I am nearly 3.5 kilos lighter than I was 2 weeks ago!Clap [clap]

...and what's more...it has been so easy!

To quote an old Weight Watchers lecturer I once had,who would say this if I had lost weight that week.

"This week, you don't have to do anything different...you just have to do it again"!

    Re: LaLa's Journal

Owwwww! Sore shins!! What's with that?

Today, after walking for about 15/20 minutes,my shins got quite sore and my lower legs felt like lead weights,so I slowed my walk down to 5kph and kept going, then after about 15 minutes,it seemed to resolve itself,so I upped to 5.6 kph and kept walking til my hour was up! Instead of 45 min,I walked for an hour to make up for the slower pace. I walked 5 kms today!

Now,my lower legs are so sore,I feel as though I've run a marathon! This all occured only 20 minutes into my walk...the same walk I have been doing for 2 weeks now.

At the moment, the way I'm feeling,I'm so hoping I can even walk tomorrow at all!!!!My shins feel very tight almost!

I'll settle for being able to get out of bed,LOL

Foodwise.I even sneaked a milky way in today and still came in about 100 cals under.Bugger,I could have had another!;)

Having trouble some days eating my 1200 cals!
