Hey there Loopy,
Firstly, congratulations on finding yourself on the BEST online forum ever. Everyone on here will help and motivate you and tell you that you are ok even when you slip up. Motivation is the key issue for a lifestyle change. No motivation = failure, so we need to work on your motivation.
From what you have said your motivation (to begin with) is that you are 46 years old and feel 86. You want to feel like you are 36 again? Or even 26? Take some time out and write down all of the things that you want to achieve when you have lost weight. I have written out a list and some of my goals are:
- I'm studying to be a high school teacher and I DO NOT want to struggle to bend down and pick stuff up off the floor in front of the students.
- I love my husband with al of my heart and I want our sex life to return to what it used to be.
- I want to be pretty. I used to look in the mirror and see a little 8 year old girl staring back at me, screaming. This was me when I was getting abused as a child. I always saw her and felt I couldn't help her. I finally laid her to rest and this fat person stood there staring back at me. I couldn't believe it was me. Now I'm starting to see the person I can become. Use this. Everytime you look in the mirror don't see who you are (although keep an eye open for her because it's important to see yourself as you really are) but now look for the person you can be.
Remember the old saying....I know there is a skinny girl inside trying to get out.....now is the time to find her and set her free.
It is time loopy, for your motivation to kick in. You have made that first most important step by coming into this group. You are a beautiful lady who deserves to feel how she wants to feel.
Good luck honey and I hope to talk to you real soon.
Love and BIG hugs
