    Kate Ritchie sheds 12 kilos

Well what an amazing lady Kate Ritchie is

She astounded me for the last twenty years watching her grown from

    a child to a woman!

Shes now 30 and looking trim and beautiful as ever!

Since leaving Home and Away Kate has lost 12 kilos

Gone from 70 kilos at her heaviest down to between 58 and 60kilos!

Shes 163cm which is just shorter than myself at 170 or five foot 7

(i just now have to work on the weight and we could be twins) hmmm im dreaming!

Also Ray not sure if this is you but there is a quote from Ray Kelly (celebrity trainer)

    Womans Days words!!!!

Saying that Kate has really transformed herself into an atheletic looking young woman

Also Ray adds its because of a healthy diet and regular exercise!

Kate works with a trainer because even though living near the coast and having a gym

membership she says she sometimes needs a kick up the backside!

THere is also a how to get kates look 3 day eating plan for readers to look at!

So if you interested its in this weeks Womans Day Magazine!

And if that is you Ray Kelly keep up the good work!

If its not well they say everyone has an evil twin!!!!!

Lol, yes it is me. They were a bit rude though to quote me and not mention my website or book, but to then put another trainer's details on the other page.

    Celebrity Trainer eh?

Does that mean you train celebrities OR you are now a celebrity yourself who occassionally does a spot of training!

Re: Kate Ritchie sheds 12 kilos

Lol Well done Ray! So did you actually train Kate...or just had to say some encouraging words to WD?

Everyone loves Kate...and everyone loves a weightloss story..no doubt WD will fly off the shelves this week! Confused

Except I won't be buying it! Wink

Makes me laugh because this is kinda old news isn't it? Even when Kate was still on Home & Away, going back to beginning of last year, you could see she was alot slimmer. WD wouldn't be just trying to sell mags would it!?!?! Stick out tongue

Ray- if you are a celebrity- celebrity trainer...does that make us your groupies ? LolStick out tongue

I'm a bit pissed at the story as it was not represented as they said it would be. Anyway, I guess that's just the media.

Not sure where they got the 'Celebrity Trainer' from though. I guess it just adds to the hype.

Ray at the risk of sounding harsh at your rate you probably have very few homeless people who are clients.

I wild even suggest that many long-term welfare recipients would be unlikely to be regular clients.

But if you keep busy charging a reasonable (or even high) price is a fair way of deciding who will get your sessions.

Yes it’s the economist in me talking. Embarrassed

Re: Kate Ritchie sheds 12 kilos

True, but the people you mentioned couldn't afford a gym membership either.

I would love to do it for free, but unfortunately that is just not possible. If you have a look around though, you'll find that we are one of the cheapest in Australia.

Re: Kate Ritchie sheds 12 kilos

I haven't spent much money with FOH and I'd say that this is basically volunteer work for Ray.  Bar actually being present to train me, Ray, you're still with us one hundred percent for pretty much any other need we might have.

Even advice has a price these days - see a lawyer, doctor, heck an electrician or builder, and you'll be charged for their advice.

So thanks Kate Ritchie, if you weren't paying for those sessions, we wouldn't be able to have Ray as much as we do.

Great point Lorna, and remember Don, there was a chance for Ray to sell this site?

I guess it is also about priorities? I would rather cut out a few take away meals, scale down some social stuff, not buy that bottle of red wine (or ciggarettes if I was smoker) stuff like that, and pay for the occassional session with a decent trainer with the savings.

This is the ongoing economic problem people have unlimited wants and limited resources.

Most of us can think of people who constantly grizzle about being broke but seem to regularly be able to afford luxuries.

I am not suggesting there is anything wrong with Ray charging a premium price for his services.

Logically if Ray was to offer a free service he would probably be able to book between 1000 and 10,000 hours of sessions per week.

Also having no income would make it very hard to pay the bills and have a reasonable quality of life for himself and his family.

I would suggest that to do a good job 20-30 hours per week would be more realistic and probably quite busy (but I don’t really know the fitness industry very well).

If Ray is too busy he can probably raise his prices.

Equally if things are slow it may be appropriate to postpone any price rises and try some sort of promotion.

If a venture such as The New Me is a Veblen good is a different question.

Any way last time I checked this site was not about economics.

    What's your point Don!?

Economics!?..or do you have an issue with people charging money for their services that you feel "normal" ppl are not able to access?

    Welcome to the real world!

    It's not rocket science!

    You work you get paid!

Are you suggesting that Ray should become some super benevolent trainer and offer his services for free?

    Would you? Do you?

If you want pretty much one on one services with anyone...you pay for the privilege. My accountant charges $200 per hour and I also pay for every phone call, every email and every stamp!

Personally, it would be a privilege to add a few healthy years to my life..if that means paying for Ray to equip me with those tools, then I would do it (if I didn't live in WA)

Of course, as Lorna pointed out..we ALL get that for free right here. TG for that too!

There will always be those who do get such services for free!..but don't take full advantage of what's on offer...still wanting more because they blame other influences for their failures to succeed.

it's those people who try to drag others down with them...(In Australia,we call that Tall Poppy Syndrome)

I think those kinds of people no matter who much, or who they pay money too, don't really want to put in the effort, but will poohoo those that do.

Whether they pay for it at The New Me..or get it for free...I doubt would make little difference in certain ppl, long term.

If someone is on a limited income and is *truly* making the best of themselves and are educated enough to want to change, they will find a way to get whatever help they require to reach their goals!

    JMO Cool

Re: Kate Ritchie sheds 12 kilos

Basically if people want to pay they will find a way to.

Ray may as well charge as much as the market will bear.

Veblen goods have an unusual demand curve in that as the price increases the demand increases.

(Sometimes if you increase the price you increase the demand)

If you really want to do it why should a plane trip stop you?

Re: Kate Ritchie sheds 12 kilos

Well my sister is a personal trainer and just because we are blood doesnt mean i get

anything for free! Sure she might send me emails but if i wanted a diet menu or consultation

it would cost me maybe not as much as her normal clients but it would still cost!

I have never thought just because we are related that i should be free as this like Ray

is their livlihood thats what puts food on the table and looks after their family!

The best thing my 3 sisters and my brother and my mum and stepfather did was all put

in and spend $4000 on a YOU BEAUT! Treadmill with all the bells and whistles its wider

and longer than most and has mp3 player music speakers the lot!

Id love my sister to come and give me some tips as im very new and unsure of how to use

it even i sent Ray a question and he answered it for me on the speed and quantity of kms

that i should be walking...But alas my sister is booked up with clients and not able to

help me at the moment however i do love her and my family for thinking outside the box

and helping me with the purchase of the treadmill, to me its something i could never

have afforded and i can now walk inside day night rain hail or shine any time my heart

    desires!

We are lucky to have access to this site and i love posting on it and will continue to do so

I may not have won the battle of the bulge but im more aware about my health issues

than what i was when i first joined the site and have got to know some very nice people

    along the way!

Keep up the great work Kate Ritchie, Ray Kelly and of course my sister Eugine!!!!
