    BL Hot Goss ;)

    1) The final three will be 2 guys and 1 girl !Stick out tongue

    2) The scales you see the losers weigh in on each week are 'dummy' scales. The losers weigh in at the DR's office early in the morning of the weigh in day!

    3) Kristie from TBL1 and her husband David now own a Workout World francise in Malaga in Perth. David has given up his job in accounts and IT .  Kristie ( new mum to 6 week old baby girl Finlay) says as well as filling her desire to own a family business, it gives her somewhere to work out! She currently works out 6 days a week doing both weights and running. She is about to tour NSW and Qld with her 'one woman roadshow' called You Can Do Anything, which shares her weightloss and fitness experience.

I'm guessing they don't get to find out their weight until they stand on the dummy scale?  That makes sense now about why those scales jump around with the different weights before they settle on the final weight..............

I hope that last woman standing isn't Marsbarita!!

I have an awful feeling it might be. She's still got weight to lose, is capable of big numbers when she actually works hard (9kg loss two weeks ago and actually winning last weeks challenge) and seems to have had a bit of an attitude change in the last couple of weeks (although did wonder about this last night with her comments about chocolate at the immunity challenge) and the other contestants seem to have shifted their vitriol to Chris and to a lesser extent Kim.

    I'm hoping its not though!!!!!

it's funny I've lost interest in the BL this year....have not paid attention at all and didn't even realise there were intruders in.

as for kristy and her ventures.  I'm actually pretty dissapointed in the losers 'selling out' and doing all these ads etc.  they are just normal people that had their moment of fame...they did their weight loss easy...in private and with dedicated trainers and time.

yes, I'm harsh, but I think I'm over all the ads I'm seeing on cat, adro and kristy...sorry guys!

    Re: BL Hot Goss ;)

    You are harsh Mel! LOL!!!

I don't have a problem with it if what they are touting IS a good product, after all, they have still had to work hard to get where they are, and I can't say *I* would say "No" in thier position. Maybe I would not say YES as often as some of them, but I would be putting my families interests first, for sure.

you know I am! Big Smile

but the funny thing is...promoting something that helped them lose the weight...and really it wasn't the thing that actually got them down...I think that's bad advertising!

hard work is what got them to that level - not one product or one gym! Big Smile

This is a topic that comes up regularly at Weight Watchers...9kg in one week?  If only I had someone else to worry about my bills for me while I have a personal trainer, all the time in the world to exercise, someone to cook my meals for me and a cleaning lady.  There isn't a magic product to get the weight off nor do diets work.  There's gotta be some permanent changes too.

    Re: BL Hot Goss ;)

I agree Mel. I should clarify, I don't have a problem with things like the gym ads. I KNOW (and so does everyone else) that they did not lose the weight at that exact gym, but I figure if you are going to advertise something, a gym is not too bad a thing.

As for the extreme results, well they make for good TV!!!  But yes, they are not necessarily the best example.

OT, must be about time we all got together again in Melbourne.................

I have lost interest too. Haven't watched for over a week. It's just not doing ti for me anymore.  I wanted to see people's strategies for losing weight, not for scoring off the other folk.  I may watch the final but then again, why bother?

Something that took me by surprise when I was chatting to Adro a few months back. His 'moment of fame' has all but made him un-employable, he has been to several interviews where he has been told that he doesn't stand a chance because of his celebrity status.

Therefore I have no problem with them using their new status to provide an income.

    Re: BL Hot Goss ;)

My state manager is a former 'celebrity' and doesn't seem to have too many problems holding down a 'normal' job.  By celebrity I mean he played rugby union for Australia& captained the ACT Brumbies- but while he was playing sport he also qualified as a doctor specialising in sports injuries and worked both in the public eye as a sports identity and also worked behind the scenes as team doctor.  Now he's working neither as an athlete nor a doctor- he's the state manager of one Australia's largest insurance companies.

It can be hard finding a happy medium and while you have a young family to support you do what you have to to make ends meet.

    Re: BL Hot Goss ;)

yeah I imagine it would be hard to find a job whilst having the short-timed "fame".  Is he trying jobs he was in previously or trying to get into another field?

I know the difficulties of getting a job, just finally got another one...fame isn't everything, you need to be picking the right area suited for you and have experience in the field.
