    Win a Heart Rate Monitor!

    Hi All,

As you all know we're keen to build our forum up into a huge support group.

In a effort to get more members we've decided to run a competition for referrals. (Although we know you'd all happily tell everyone about us anyway, we just want to give away another prize!)

Here's how it works: You let everyone know about us and ask them to put in their intro that you referred them. The person who brings in the most new members by February 28th wins the Heart Rate Monitor.

Now although I would have liked it to be a Polar, the fact is our budget won't allow for that at the moment (well it is a free site!).

I have just bought it so I'll let you know more details about the model when I recieve it. What I can tell you though is that it doesn't use a strap, instead you place your finger on a sensor.

Some ideas for letting people know:

    • Friends
    • Workmates
    • Work Intranet or Noticeboard
    • Family
    • Email list
    • Signature in Forums

Anyway, I'm sure you'll have some ideas of your own!

    Ray

ps. We will backdate any current members you've brought across if they edit their first post in the Intro section and say that you referred them.

Wow - thats awesome.   Thank you so much.

My swimming pal from work joined up today so there's another one and I believe her husband is also going to join.

I have to admit it's easy to refer people to FOH because I love it and I will continue to tell people about FOH

    Ray,

Thank you for the heart rate monitor.  Im actually looking forward to walking today so I can use it.

One thing.... When I take my own heart rate the rest HR is 78 on the monitor its 90

Im guessing the monitor would be correct.

I tested it before I sent it and it seemed pretty accurate. Let me know how it goes

Re: Win a Heart Rate Monitor!

    Ray,

I took my heart rate today and resting was 78 which is what I calculated - The other day it was 90.

Oh it works great - its awesome I love it and it kind of makes me want to exercise to use it.

This might be a silly question but here goes anyway.

When your stressed does your heart rate rise?   What about after you have eaten?  Do have a list of things that make your heart rate rise (excluding exercise)

Re: Win a Heart Rate Monitor!

Lol, yes stress, illness, fatigue, etc, all makes your heart rate rise. Basically any time your body needs to work a little harder, your hr increases!

Re: Win a Heart Rate Monitor!

I worked out why it was showing a high reading the day i got it - I had not yet entered my details.

Like a kid with a new toy and play with it before reading the instructions.

Reminds me of the typewriter when we were kids.  My sister got a type writer for Xmas and pulled it from the box and started to type her name, not realising the letters were all wired up.  The J never worked ever again.  very funny Jenny could never type her name.  LOL
