Fasting, or to put it simply not eating, makes sense I guess. If eating less helps you to lose weight then eating nothing must make you lose weight faster. But this weight loss can not be sustained and it can lead to many physical and psychological problems in the future.
Fasting is not a long-term solution because as soon as you start eating again, the weight will come back.
You need to look at what is causing the problem. For most people it is not exercising, having poor eating habits, or a combination of both. Exercising is simple, just go for a walk. But changing your eating habits can be much harder. Start by reducing the size of your meals. Then move on to reducing the amount of fat in them. Don't try to eliminate fat totally unless you know you can handle it. Ease yourself off it!
The physical problems associated with fasting occurs with the kidneys, liver, and also the density of the bones (osteoperosis).
The psychological problems occur when you can't even recognize that you have a problem. Anorexia and bulimia causes problems for many people worldwide. They are terrible illnesses that can be tough to recover from.
